What’s included

Everything out, down to where the build needs it

We take out the surface and subsurface material, brush, trees, roots, stumps, and buried debris, as deep as the job calls for.

Site prep and rough grading come with it where you need them, so the site is ready for the next trade.

On bigger properties we often pair clearing with forestry mulching: we clear where the structure goes and mulch the rest, so your mature trees and topsoil stay protected where you’re not building.

Why land clearing has limits

Clearing near a mature oak can kill it, so we don’t

Land clearing runs equipment that tears roots up underground. For a build site, that’s exactly what you want. But near a mature oak, or any tree you want to keep, it’s a problem. Even a root rake or an excavator working around the tree pulls roots, and the tree can look fine for a year or two before it dies from the damage, or comes down in the next strong storm. We’ve seen it happen after a septic line went in near a mature oak.

So we clear where the structure goes and mulch around what you want to keep. You get your build site and your trees both.

The right machine for the job

Sized to the site, from small pads to large acreage

For smaller lots and pads, we run a skid steer with a bucket and a root-rake grapple. For larger acreage or heavy material, we bring a bigger machine matched to the work. Either way, the job gets the equipment it needs to be done efficiently and done right.

Site prep, when you need it

Drainage, grade, and a driveway to match
